KASESE, UGANDA – Kasese Municipal community was struck by tragedy on Saturday morning after a local artisan, known for his skill as a carpenter, collapsed and died suddenly while crossing the road to begin his day’s work.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The deceased, a man in his early 40s, has been identified as Mugabi Gabriel, a resident of Kilembe Quarters, Kamaiba Ward, in Kasese Municipality, originally from Munyarukuru.
Rwenzori East Region Police spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime, stated that the incident occurred at approximately 9:00 AM. “Mugabi was crossing the road to attend to his normal duties when he suddenly collapsed,” Tumushime said.
He confirmed that a Homicide team was immediately dispatched to the scene, and the body was conveyed to Kasese Municipal Council Health Centre III for a postmortem to determine the exact cause of death.
In light of the incident, the police spokesperson issued a public caution, urging the community to proactively manage chronic diseases such as hypertension and heart conditions.
SP Nelson Tumushime further advised individuals to prioritize regular medical check-ups, maintain healthy eating habits, engage in regular exercise, and practice stress management to reduce associated health risks.
