Two suspects, Muhumuza George, 14, and Akanyijuka Eden, 16, are in custody accused of attacking fellow teenager Twinamatsiko Kam, 14, of Nyarurambi cell, Kasheshe parish, in the Buyanja sub-county.

According to reliable sources, on the evening of November 7, 2025, at approximately 8:00 PM in Nyarurambi Cell, the deceased was walking with a companion, Edwin Niwenyesiga, when they were allegedly ambushed by the two individuals.

During the incident, one of the suspects, Akanyijuka Eden, was armed with a panga (machete) and used it to cut the deceased on the head. The assailants accused the teenagers of calling them thieves of pigs before fleeing the scene.

Edwin alerted the Deceased’s family, who rushed Twinamatsiko to Nyakibale Hospital before he was referred to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital due to his severe head wound, succumbing to his injuries while in transit.

The Kigezi Police spokesperson, Elly Maate, confirmed that the matter was formally reported by the father, Mr. Turinawe Kam.

Maate added that police investigators have visited, examined, and documented the crime scene, and a post-mortem examination has been conducted on the body.

“The two suspects have been arrested to aid in investigations. Our initial findings indicate that Akanyijuka Eden was armed with a panga, which he used to cut the deceased on the head after accusing him and his companion of calling them thieves of pigs,” stated Maate.

This arrest marks a measure of progress in a case that has shocked the local community, as authorities work to deliver justice for the slain teenager.
