In the Church of Uganda, Canons serve an advisory role as part of the “Chapter,” providing guidance to the Bishop and assisting in the administration of the Cathedral. They are trusted to live exemplary lives and often take on mentorship responsibilities, guiding and supporting younger clergy.
The Canons also play vital roles in pastoral care, engaging in activities such as evangelism and discipleship, nurturing the spiritual growth of the congregation and the wider community.
