ENTEBBE, UGANDA – The Uganda Police Force has intensified its search for the perpetrators of the brutal murder of Mr. and Mrs. Mutaaga in Entebbe, announcing an increased cash reward for information leading to an arrest.

During a weekly press briefing, the police spokesperson, ACP Kituuma Rusoke, announced that the force has raised the reward from the initial 50 million shillings to 60 million shillings for any member of the public who can provide credible information that results in the apprehension of the suspect(s).

The investigation, which has gripped the nation, relies on evidence authorities possess, and the public is urged to scrutinize the circulated photo and voice recording of the prime suspect.

Kituuma confirmed the increased reward also aims to dispel public misinformation, directly addressing a New Vision report from September 12, 2025, that falsely suggested police had already identified the suspects.

He explicitly denied the claim, clarifying that the individuals highlighted were only persons of interest based on investigative tips and have not been formally identified as the perpetrators.

The police spokesperson emphasized a methodical, evidence-based approach to the investigation, assuring the public that any arrests will be supported by concrete proof to avoid jeopardizing the case.

“We urge public patience and cooperation and assure you that formal suspect details will be released only once conclusive evidence is established,” stated ACP Rusoke.

The double murder of the Mutaagas remains a top priority for the force as it works to solve a case that has raised serious concerns about community safety in the Entebbe area.
