He underscored their early coordination in liberation struggles and joint contributions to African Union peace missions, notably in Somalia, where their troops have stood shoulder-to-shoulder under ATMIS in a collective resolve to pacify the continent.
Gen. Muhoozi further lauded the robust diplomatic relations, built on mutual respect, shared stability goals, and regular high-level visits that demonstrate the strong bond between the two countries and their militaries.
Ambassador Yimenu appreciated the CDF’s prompt response to her meeting request, viewing it as evidence of the Ugandan military’s responsiveness and dedication.
She conveyed heartfelt thanks for Uganda’s support during the Adwa celebrations earlier this year, emphasizing that the participation resonated deeply as a tribute to African strength.

The discussions culminated in a strong reaffirmation of the enduring partnership between Uganda and Ethiopia, with both the CDF and the Ambassador emphasizing the necessity of enhancing bilateral and defence cooperation.
The delegations committed to deepening intelligence sharing, joint training, and collaborative peacekeeping efforts to ensure the security and prosperity of the Horn of Africa and the Great Lakes region.
