Minister Musasizi noted that President Museveni entrusted him with five key responsibilities after his appointment to lead the Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development.
The Minister noted that his lead task is powering the USD 500 Billion Economy Agenda, an ambitious growth framework that targets a tenfold expansion of Uganda’s GDP from 50 billion to 500 billion dollars by the year 2040.
He noted that his second key objective is guaranteeing Budget Discipline, enforcing Results-Focused Budgeting that replaces mere spending with strict value-for-money audits and results-driven project oversight.
The Rubanda East legislator is further charged with advancing Domestic Revenue Mobilization, rolling out aggressive tax reforms and procurement efficiencies to achieve a revenue-to-GDP ratio of at least 20 percent.

Through bold fiscal reforms, Musasizi is squarely targeting a sharp reduction in Uganda’s external debt dependency, laying robust foundations for a more self-sustaining and economically resilient national future.
The Minister’s fourth key assignment champions full monetization of the economy, harnessing the Parish Development Model to lift subsistence-based households out of informality and into the structured monetary mainstream.
Meanwhile, Musasizi’s final and equally critical task is safeguarding oil wealth management, ensuring that petroleum revenues propel growth rather than trigger instability, while non-oil industries remain shielded from the resource curse trap.

Attending the giveaway ceremony was the Rubanda District Woman MP Ninsiima Evelyn Kikafunda, who lauded Minister Musasizi for his smartness, consistency, and dedicated service to the NRM government during the giveaway ceremony in Kabale.
Hon. Kikafunda noted that his sharp intellect and unwavering performance command widespread attention whenever he speaks, both on the floor of Parliament and at the cabinet level.
