The vibrant group of 215 learners completed a rigorous one-week patriotism training program, displaying national pride and youthful determination at a colorful pass-out ceremony praised by military, education, and government leaders.
Maj. Dagaras underscored the training’s pivotal role in shaping young minds, stating that it builds discipline, responsible citizenship, national values, and academic excellence.
He highlighted the comprehensive curriculum covering civics, teamwork, drills, punctuality, respect, anti-corruption, and honesty in school and future leadership.
“The training aimed at building learners’ discipline, transforming them into responsible citizens, instilling national values, and boosting academic performance in schools,” Maj. Dagaras stated.
The Political Commissar emphasized that the program offers learners a platform to share ideas, gain confidence, and maintain cordial relationships, skills essential for academic success and life beyond the classroom.
Ndekye SS Headteacher Alex Mabwindi confirmed that over 200 learners passed the patriotism training, citing its role in developing leadership, capacity, and student advocacy.
He noted progress in timekeeping, respect for teachers, and class participation, emphasizing that discipline boosts performance, while mentorship, peer accountability, and community service will sustain the gains.
“Disciplined learners become responsible citizens. When learners are disciplined and responsible, academic performance goes up. Continuous mentorship, peer accountability, and community service will help us sustain this progress,” Mabwindi affirmed.
The ceremony, held at the school premises, marked a significant milestone in the students’ journey toward becoming responsible citizens, with speakers across the board emphasizing the transformative power of discipline, cultural pride, and academic dedication.
The pass-out ceremony represents more than just a graduation, it signals a renewed commitment to nurturing a generation of Ugandans who understand their civic responsibilities, respect authority, and strive for excellence in all endeavors.
