The development was confirmed by the school’s headteacher, Charles Harela, who announced that 120 O-Level candidates and 64 A-Level candidates can now access their long-awaited academic results.

This marks the end of a protracted period of anxiety for students, parents, and staff following the delay, which stemmed from a decision by UNEB to withhold the results due to an outstanding balance exceeding 17 million shillings.

He confirmed that the school has since cleared the required amount in full, prompting UNEB to release the results, bringing relief to the school community and allowing students to finally pursue their next steps in education.

The headteacher took a firm stance against individuals who had been disseminating information about the school’s situation without authorization.

He cautioned propagandists to desist from spreading unverified rumors, noting that every institution faces challenges and that no stakeholder wishes to see the reputation or operations of their institution decline.

Broader Examination Crisis in KisoroThe situation at Kisoro Progressive Secondary School is part of a wider examination headache in the district.

The Kisoro district faces an examination crisis following the withholding of Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results , which has affected approximately 500 candidates , creating a bottleneck that has hindered many from transitioning to secondary education.

Kisoro Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Akifeza Grace Ngabirano, recently petitioned Parliament over what she describes as UNEB’s continued practice of withholding results.

The legislator deemed the issue one of urgent national importance , expressing grave concern over the prolonged uncertainty affecting candidates from her district and other parts of the country.

With the release of results at Kisoro Progressive Secondary School, attention now turns to resolving the outstanding PLE cases to ensure no learner’s academic journey is further disrupted.
