RUBANDA – The newly inaugurated Rubanda District Land Board has been charged to serve with unwavering integrity, transparency, and fairness in fulfilling its constitutional mandate of managing the district’s land resources.

The Rubanda District Land Board, now formally sworn into office with Musiime Jimmy as Chairperson and Namara Cylia, Habomugisha Mary, Mutabazi Damiano, and Rubagunya John Paul as members, assumes a pivotal role in local land governance.
Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba opened the Board’s term by highlighting land as the bedrock of community welfare and warning that its mishandling could undermine peace and progress.
“Land is the foundation of homes, agriculture, investment, and the livelihoods of our people. How we manage this precious resource directly affects peace, prosperity, and sustainable development in our district,” Kasyaba emphasized.
He further urged the five-member Board to execute their duties without fear or favour, upholding professionalism, accountability, and steadfast respect for the rule of law.
The chairperson emphasized that their oath represents a sacred pledge to protect public trust and serve every community member equally, regardless of status or affiliation.
Rubanda District CAO Samuel Ahabwe assured the new board of full technical and administrative support, while stressing the paramount importance of maintaining the highest standards of integrity.
He reminded the members that the people of Rubanda expect a Board that is accessible, efficient, responsive, and committed to timely handling of land matters alongside proper record management.

The CAO further cautioned the board against personal interests, political influence, or corruption, and called for close coordination with the District Council, DEC, District Land Office, and Area Land Committees to enhance overall service delivery.
Speaking on behalf of the new Board, Chairman Musiime Jimmy pledged maximum cooperation with district leadership and all stakeholders to ensure effective land management and improved service delivery for the people of Rubanda.
“We understand the weight of the responsibility placed upon us. We are committed to serving with integrity, transparency, and a deep sense of duty to the community that has entrusted us with this mandate,” Musiime affirmed.
The board’s effective administration of land resources will determine the district’s socio-economic future, underscoring the importance of their mandate for investment, agriculture, and the livelihoods of the people they serve.
