The former legislator for Kabale Municipality told electorates that job creation remains his top priority, reflecting on his earlier efforts to forge employment pathways for graduates struggling to find work.
“During my previous term, I started tackling youth unemployment, distressed by the sight of graduates spending years jobless. Now, leveraging the network and support of businessman Charles Mbire, we are set to create more than 5,000 opportunities for the youth of this municipality,” stated Baryayanga.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to improving municipal infrastructure, pledging to lobby for more road projects under the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development (USMID) program.
Hon. Andrew Aja Baryayanga also highlighted his earlier “Light Up Kabale City” initiative, aimed at curbing insecurity in known hotspot areas through improved street lighting.
His ongoing mobilization rallies are building momentum toward a major final campaign event on January 13th, which he promised would paint Kabale Municipality in the NRM’s signature yellow.
Local youth and residents expressed optimism that the job creation pledge, if realized, could mark a significant economic shift for the municipality, citing the region’s high graduate unemployment.
Baryayanga is contesting to reclaim the Kabale Municipality parliamentary seat in the upcoming elections, a seat he held in the 9th and 10th Parliament.
