In a direct appeal, she publicly called upon government critics, notably political analyst Perez Rumanzi, to recognize the NRM’s achievements and join the party.
However, when approached for comment after the event, Mr. Rumanzi declined the offer. He told journalists he was unwilling to join an NRM party he views as harboring hypocritical and corrupt leaders.
“My conscience wouldn’t allow me to accept, knowing that I’d be endorsing a system that prioritizes the protection of the corrupt over the principles of integrity and transparency,” Rumanzi stated.
In her address, Rugambwa also forcefully denied personal allegations of theft, asserting that her primary focus is to serve the people. She implored the community to utilize government projects to fight poverty.
She highlighted the achievements of her “Boona Bageigahare Nyekundire Group Limited” project, an initiative that provides crop seedlings and essential supplies to vulnerable communities.
Peace Rugambwa emphasized the project’s tangible impact, stating it has empowered beneficiaries to generate sustainable income and, most importantly, secure their children’s educational futures.
“President Museveni sent me to create all avenues through agriculture to uplift the people in South Western Uganda from a subsistence economy to a money economy, and I am ready to deliver on that mandate,” Rugambwa affirmed.
Several beneficiaries at the event corroborated the project’s impact, sharing stories of building houses, paying school fees, and acquiring livestock as a direct result of the support received.
