The leaders of the parties announced their decision on Wednesday evening after a meeting with Uganda’s Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, at her office in Kampala.

The new coalition includes several parties, such as the Republic Women and Youth Party, the National Economic Empowerment Dialogue (NEED), and the Revolutionary People’s Party (RPP), among others.

The delegation was led by Kiwanda Ssuubi, the chairman of the National Consultative Forum, which is a constitutional body comprising all political parties with representation in Parliament.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja commended coalition mobilizer Kiwanda Ssuubi and welcomed the parties’ decision to support President Museveni in continuing to protect the nation’s gains.

“I congratulate the political parties that have formed this coalition and pledged their support to President Museveni. I also welcome their decision, which will help continue protecting the gains our nation has made,” said PM Robinah Nabbanja.

Speaking for the group, Stella Bbira Nambuya from the Republic Women and Youth Party explained that their decision to form the coalition is their constitutional right.

Nambuya stated that the coalition’s support stems from a recognition of President Museveni’s enduring legacy in driving national progress and development.

This new coalition is seen as a major boost for President Museveni’s campaign, bringing together a wider range of support from across Uganda’s political landscape.
