As the keynote speaker on Friday at the Kigezi Youth summit held at St Paul’s Bukinda SSS Kakatunda playground Dr. Sylvia encouraged the youth to engage in projects like piggery, poultry farming, and fishing to reduce unemployment.

Dr. Sylvia who doubles as the Deputy Managing Director of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) further empowered the youth by donating a hatchery with a capacity of 2000 chicks per round.

This donation is part of her ongoing efforts to support the community, having distributed 10 million coffee seedlings in Rukiga district last year, accompanied by hoes and pangas for plantation use.

Dr. Alineitwe has also distributed 35,000 hoes and pangas to enhance agricultural productivity among households in Rukiga District.

State Minister in charge of Youth and Children Affairs Balaam Barugahara, who presided over the event as the guest of honor, urged the youth to take advantage of government initiatives such as the Youth Livelihood Program, Emyooga, and the Parish Development.

He emphasized the need for transparency in the distribution of government funds to ensure they benefit the intended beneficiaries and uplift their economic growth.

The event attracted hundreds of people from within the district and was met with overwhelming love and support for Dr. Alineitwe and Minister Barugahara.

Dr. Alineitwe’s commitment to empowering the youth and supporting community development has made her a popular figure in Rukiga district.
