The officer stands accused of fatally shooting the Deputy Officer in Charge of Kiboga Prisons, along with three other individuals, in an attack that sent shockwaves through the Uganda Prisons Service and the community.
According to a reliable source, sister security agencies in Arua District, working closely with prison officers, tracked the fugitive in a coordinated operation that led to the breakthrough.
Prior to the arrest in Congo, the joint task force arrested three people, two brothers and the suspect’s girlfriend, whose leads helped track Anguyo across the border.
Anguyo has been transferred back into Uganda and is currently held at Arua Central Police Station (CPS) as arrangements are finalized to transport him to Kiboga, the jurisdiction where the capital offense is alleged to have occurred.
The successful cross-border operation highlights ongoing collaboration between Ugandan security forces and their counterparts in the DRC to ensure that fugitives are brought to justice.
The Uganda Prisons Service has yet to release an official statement regarding the arrest, but security sources confirm that the suspect is in custody and will face the full weight of the law.
