WAKISO – Bushenyi’s Parental Care Nursery and Primary School has clinched the overall champions title at the prestigious Olympia Junior Festival 2026, overcoming formidable competition to seize the coveted crown.

Young learners from Parental Care showcased exceptional prowess across a wide range of disciplines, including debate, poetry, public speaking, quizzing, and storytelling, leaving audiences thoroughly impressed.
The competition was fierce, with hosts The Olive School Namugongo pushing the champions to their limits before ultimately conceding victory to the Bushenyi-based institution.
The event served as a vibrant platform for individual excellence, with Parental Care students sweeping top honors across multiple categories.
Ashaba Isaiah earned Overall Best Speaker, Mwebesa Arshavin was crowned Best Poet for his creative expression, and Bernice Nabasa secured Best Public Speaker with remarkable oratory.
Parental Care Director Trever Yebazamukama expressed immense pride in his learners’ achievements, emphasizing that their participation was driven by a deeper purpose beyond mere competition.
He affirmed that the festival instilled vital competencies, articulate expression, analytical thinking, collaborative spirit, and self-assurance, precisely the tools needed to thrive in an AI-shaped era.
“Our learners took part to build 21st-century skills like clear communication, logical thinking, research, teamwork, and confidence that go beyond the classroom. These skills will prepare them for an AI-driven world,” Trever said.
The competition has grown into a premier talent platform in Uganda, with Olympia Debate Society reaching thousands of students and teachers across East Africa through initiatives that foster informed discourse and respectful dialogue.
