Hon. Banga announced the development on Thursday, October 16, 2025, during a press conference at Kabale’s Capricorn Hotel, where he detailed the plans to media representatives.
He explained that the initiative was facilitated through his dedicated non-governmental organization, the Rights for Poor Young People in Uganda (RPYPU).
Furthermore, Hon. Banga revealed that the funding and support for the school construction project were secured from his “friends in the Netherlands.”
This international collaboration highlights the candidate’s ability to attract external development resources to address local challenges in Kabale District.
“Through the relentless efforts of my organization, RPYPU, we have been able to lobby for the establishment of these five secondary schools. This is a testament to our commitment to tangible development and our belief that every young person in Kabale deserves access to quality education, regardless of their economic background,” Banga stated.
The lobbying success directly supports the first pillar of Hon. Banga’s five-pillar manifesto for Kabale, which is built on Education Development, Health, Industrialization, Household Income, and advocacy for people evicted from wetlands.
By delivering on education before the elections, Hon. Banga has strengthened his credibility with voters, particularly parents and youth, positioning himself as a candidate focused on actionable results.
“The establishment of these schools is just the beginning. It is a concrete step towards fulfilling the broader social and economic contract I have with the people of Kabale. We are not just making promises; we are laying the foundation for a brighter, more prosperous future,” Banga assured.
The construction of the five new secondary schools is anticipated to alleviate classroom overcrowding, reduce the distance students travel for their education, and create numerous employment opportunities during and after the construction phase.
This development places education at the forefront of the upcoming electoral debate in Kabale and sets a high bar for other candidates, demonstrating Hon. Owomugisha Donozio Banga’s proactive approach to governance and development.
