KISORO – Kisoro Police have initiated investigations into the alleged brutal assault and killing of a 47-year-old man following a reported misunderstanding at a bar in Kisoro Municipality.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The deceased has been identified as Hategeka Eugene, a resident of Kisoro Main Village, Central Division, who allegedly was assaulted and died instantly.
Sources allege that Hategeka was assaulted by one Bahati and others at approximately 3:00 AM on April 26, 2026, following a misunderstanding inside Club Hills bar in Kisoro Municipality.
The bar manager, Niringiyimana Milla, reportedly rescued Hategeka and rushed him to Mutolere Hospital. He was later referred to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on the morning of April 29, 2026.
The Kigezi Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed to this reporter that CID Kisoro has since coordinated with the OC CID Mbarara to ensure that a postmortem examination is conducted at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
Meanwhile, the police have reassured the public that upon completion of ongoing inquiries, all suspects connected to the murder will be apprehended and prosecuted.
