The deceased, whose identity remains uncertain, was registered in the guest book at Cheers Pub and Accommodation Kabale, within Kabale Municipality, where she had gone to spend the night under the name Orishaba Allen.

According to preliminary reports, on the evening of July 29, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., the deceased arrived at the lodge in the company of a male companion.

The two registered under the names Orishaba Allen though authorities have not confirmed whether this was her real identity and Andy Julius, who claimed to be a resident of Katuna.

They were subsequently accommodated at the lodge, but the following morning on July 30, 2025, at around 9:51 a.m., a lodge attendant conducting routine cleaning discovered the lifeless body of the woman lying in a pool of blood on the bed.

The victim had sustained four deep stab wounds to the chest and stomach, with a knife left abandoned on her left side.

The shocked attendant immediately alerted the lodge manager, who then reported the incident to Kabale Central Police Station.

The Kigezi Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed the incident, stating that police officers swiftly responded by visiting the crime scene to process and document evidence.

Among the exhibits recovered were the knife believed to have been used in the attack, unused HIV/syphilis testing kits, and a syringe.

The victim’s body was transported to Kabale Regional Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities are urging anyone who may be missing a relative or who has information related to the incident to come forward.

“We urge members of the public to visit the mortuary and assist in identifying the deceased for a dignified burial. Anyone with information about this crime must come forward to help police bring the perpetrator to justice,” Maate stated.
