The event, held at the church premises in Rwanyanja Cell, Kazindiro Parish, Bugangari Subcounty, was presided over by the Dean of Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano, the Very Reverend Dickens Baguma, targeting over UGX 168 million to complete the project now at the roofing stage.

The Very Reverend Dickens Baguma commended the faithful for their unity and commitment to developing what is poised to become one of the first large church buildings in the North Kigezi Diocese.

He urged Christians to embrace vision, careful planning, and perseverance, drawing inspiration from the biblical example of Nehemiah, who rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem against formidable odds, and called upon them to work together with determination as the fruit of unity and shared purpose.

The Dean further challenged the congregation to protect their unity, remain focused, resist discouragement, and build not only a physical church but also strong Christian lives, families, and communities, particularly among the youth.

The St. Paul’s Rwanyanja Church of Uganda parish priest, Rev. Richard Kwehanga, expressed gratitude to the Christians for their unwavering support and unity, which he credited for the significant progress achieved.

Kwehanga revealed that upon his arrival at the parish in July 2023, he found challenges in tithing and development, but through collective effort, the Christians addressed these challenges before embarking on the ambitious church construction project.

He noted that the parish also boasts a four-hectare coffee plantation now producing and expected to boost the church’s development, and appealed for continued support until the church is fully completed, with the congregation hoping for readiness by Christmas.
