Speaking yesterday, July 29, 2025 at the official opening of a governance retreat for Diocesan Secretaries and Human Resource Officers at Namirembe Guesthouse in Kampala, Archbishop Kazimba urged leaders to uphold ethical standards and remain committed to the Church’s mission.

The retreat, organized by the Church of Uganda’s Provincial Secretariat, brought together key leaders to discuss policy implementation, leadership ethics, and administrative best practices.

Dr. Kazimba called on attendees to diligently study Church documents, ensuring their administrative decisions are well-informed and aligned with the Church’s policies.

He stressed that effective leadership requires firm yet compassionate communication, reflecting the Church’s pastoral role.

Addressing the challenges of leadership, the Archbishop highlighted the need for emotional intelligence in managing frustrations and conflicts.

He encouraged leaders to respond to difficulties in a godly and constructive manner. Additionally, he emphasized ethical retirement planning, warning against shortcuts that compromise integrity.

The retreat was coordinated by the Provincial Secretary, Rev. Canon William Ongeng, and the Provincial Human Resource Manager, Ms. Jane Kigundu.

Archbishop Kazimba thanked the organizing team for their efforts in facilitating the training, which aims to strengthen governance and human resource management across the Church’s dioceses.

The gathering serves as a vital platform for equipping Church leaders with the skills needed to navigate administrative and pastoral challenges while promoting unity and accountability.
