NEWS: Women entrepreneurs in Masindi District have been tipped on how to properly use funds they receive from the government to eradicate poverty.

The Minister indicated that the World Bank had set aside 217 USD about 800 billion shillings to assist women entrepreneurs running small businesses in transforming from peasantry to a money economy.
He explained how the Government through the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development is meant to support women entrepreneurs in a five-year Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) project to increase access to finance for women.
According to the Regional Manager, Bunyoro Dairy Development Authority Annette Kyomuhangi, there are a number of women in dairy farming in areas of Kijujubwa, Ntooma and Kaikuku, whom she says must adopt best animal husbandry practices and Climate-smart agriculture (CSA).
She added that people have to stop depending on rain-fed agriculture but rather plant and Conserve pasture, so that they are able to feed their Animals that will provide them with quality milk both in dry and wet seasons.
The Growth Opportunities and Productivity for Women Enterprises (GROW) project being implemented by local governments across the country, and the Rwenzori region leaders have been briefed on how it will be implemented.
