KABALE, UGANDA – Kabale Police are investigating a homicide after the body of an unidentified man was discovered on a roadside in Kabale Municipality.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The grim discovery was made on the Nyakijumba Mwanjari road in Rushaki Cell, Southern Division, early Monday morning. The man is believed to have been murdered at an unknown time on Sunday night.
According to the Kigezi Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, police were notified of the incident by the area chairperson, Namara John Fisher.
The scene of the crime was visited, processed, and documented by Kabale Police, including the K-9 unit led by the District CID Officer, D/ASP Tumwine Nelson.
A Police K-9 dog was introduced at the scene to trace the unknown assailants, but the trail went cold, with the dog failing to track the suspects.
Maate stated that officers have since launched a thorough investigation, recording statements from relevant witnesses to piece together the events leading to the man’s death.
“The scene of crime was visited, processed, and documented by the police at Kabale, including the K-9 dog which was introduced to the scene to trace the unknown assailants, but in vain,” emphasized Maate.
The victim’s body, bearing fresh injuries to the head and dressed in what are suspected to be bloodstained clothes, was retrieved from the scene and transferred to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Police are now urging anyone missing a relative to visit the Kabale Hospital mortuary to identify the body for a dignified burial.
