KAMPALA, UGANDA – The controversial socialite and philanthropist, Bryan White, has been remanded to Luzira Upper Prison after he was denied bail following a dramatic court hearing.

Chief Magistrate Sarah Basemera blocked journalists from accessing her chambers, locking herself inside with Mr. Kirumira, some police officers, and the deceased’s father.
After hours of indoor court proceedings, the presiding magistrate ordered his detention at the maximum-security facility until his next court appearance, scheduled for next week.
An anonymous court official confirmed the remand is tied to unresolved legal issues from past high-profile allegations, despite the prosecution’s arguments remaining private.
“He has been denied bail and will be held at Luzira until his next hearing. The details of the charge are still confidential at this stage,” a court official confirmed.
Once known for flamboyant philanthropy, Bryan White’s reputation has been increasingly marred by serious public accusations of sexual misconduct and financial fraud.
He has consistently denied all allegations, yet the cases have sparked intense public debate, polarizing opinion across the country.
The decision to remand him to Luzira Upper Prison, a facility typically reserved for individuals facing grave offenses, has intensified speculation about the severity of the current charges.
