RUKIGA – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party in Rukiga District has secured a complete clean sweep, with all its Women Council Committee members elected unopposed as party flagbearers during the internal primaries.

The atmosphere was one of camaraderie and collective purpose, as party members turned out to witness a seamless transition that underscored the party’s cohesive strength in the region.
Hon. Ninsiima Joselyne Arinaitwe went unchallenged to reclaim the NRM flag bearer position for Women Council Chairperson in Rukiga District, a testament to her enduring grassroots trust.
She was joined by Asiimwe Molly Karamagi, Asiimwe Annah, and Nanteza Charity, who all walked away unopposed as Vice Chairperson, Publicity Secretary, and Secretary of Finance, respectively.
The internal party election served as a critical precursor to the Women Council Committee General Elections, which are now formally scheduled to take place on August 28, 2026.
Speaking shortly after the results were announced, an elated Joselyne Arinaitwe attributed her smooth re-election to the trust built during her previous tenure as outgoing chairperson.
She described her unopposed victory as a clear and resounding testament to the deep-rooted grassroots confidence in her leadership over the past years.
“I am deeply humbled by the continued faith that my fellow party members have placed in me. This is not just a personal achievement, but a collective mandate to serve with even greater dedication,” Arinaitwe stated.
Joselyne Arinaitwe reaffirmed her commitment to transparent, inclusive, and considerate leadership, while vowing to fiercely champion women’s emancipation and economic empowerment across the district.
Meanwhile, NRM party officials in Rukiga District have appealed to the entire membership to unite behind the selected flagbearers, while calling for discipline and solidarity in the run-up to the August polls.
The officials further urged supporters to close ranks and mobilize wholeheartedly, confident that the party’s experienced and capable team will deliver a resounding victory and sustain the NRM’s dominance in women’s leadership across the district.
