RUBIRIZI – The Lions Club of Rubirizi has donated an assortment of sanitary pads, books, and pens to pupils at Kashebeya Parents School and pledged to provide 16 double-decker beds aimed at boosting learners’ overall welfare.

“We decided to visit Kashebeya Parents School to support learners with essential scholastic materials and sanitary pads, ensuring that girls stay in school without interruption. We also pledged to improve accommodation by donating beds, which will help learners sleep better and study well,” said Akiki.
She emphasized that the gesture is part of a broader mission to strengthen education, welfare, and community service in Rubirizi. The timely donation arrives as a true lifeline for Kashebeya Parents School, where countless pupils endure persistent shortages of both basic learning materials and decent sleeping facilities.
The newly supplied beds are set to revolutionize the boarding experience, granting students the comfort they need for restorative rest and renewed concentration on their academic pursuits.
The Lions Club has since installed a zebra crossing in the Nyakasharu community, shielding pupils and residents alike on busy roads while reducing accident risks and fostering safer journeys every day.
During the visit, Rubirizi District Chairperson Agaba Obed Byakureka praised the Lions Club’s unity, selfless service, and teamwork in supporting government efforts through school support and health center strengthening.
“The Lions Club of Rubirizi is doing tremendous work in complementing government efforts. Through projects that fight poverty, support schools, and strengthen health centers, they are making a tangible difference in our community,” Obed said.
The chairperson further urged other organizations to emulate the club’s passionate service, recognizing that their tangible community impact sets a powerful example for collective development and lasting change in Rubirizi.
Kashebeya Parents School headteacher Muhirwe Nelson emphasized that the scholastic materials and pledged beds will keep learners in school while significantly boosting their welfare and academic performance.
