This was revealed by the Chairman of the Board of Kyamuhunga People’s Sacco (KYAPS), Turyamureeba Paul Kahiigi, during the 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at St. Mary’s Parish in Kyamuhunga, Bushenyi District.

The successful KYAPS Celebrations brought together the SACCO members to reflect on the institution’s remarkable journey and chart a path for sustained growth.

Addressing the members, the board Chairperson Paul Kahiigi appealed for the recruitment of more members, urging the borrowers to repay loans promptly in order to curb default rates and ensure the Sacco’s financial health.

He underscored the critical importance of financial discipline among members, stressing that timely loan repayment forms the backbone of the Sacco’s sustainability.

Paul Kahiigi further urged members to take full advantage of KYAPS’ diverse product offerings, emphasizing that every service is designed with their ultimate welfare in mind.

“Financial discipline among members and timely repayment of loans is the backbone of the Sacco’s sustainability. I urged members to fully utilize the Sacco products because they are always aimed at benefiting them,” said Turyamureeba Paul Kahiigi.

KYAPS Treasurer, Rev. Fr. Ayebare Mukasa Barekye, revealed impressive figures, announcing that the Sacco currently boasts a share capital of 12 billion Ugandan Shillings and a growing membership base of 59,454 members.

KYAPS started in 1998 and has since grown to four branches, namely the Main branch, Katerera, Rutookye and Ishaka branches, with very many outreaches established in various parts of Uganda.
