The project, launched on Friday at the hospital grounds, is designed to enhance the footpath’s visibility and create a safer route for pedestrians accessing vital healthcare services.

The initiative is part of the preparatory activities for the 45th Tarehe Sita Anniversary, which is scheduled to be commemorated in Kabale District on February 6, 2026.

Brig. Gen. Johnson Niwamanya, who attended the launch, confirmed that a substantial sum of 38 million shillings has already been disbursed to fund a series of such community-benefit projects.

He added that a number of activities are planned, including the renovation of water sources and clearing of trenches, among many other communal initiatives.

Brig. Gen. Niwamanya said that the specific “Post Office – Makanga” footpath will be significantly improved with the installation of paving stones and security lights to ensure safe movement day and night.

Presiding over the ceremony as the Guest of Honor, the Assistant RDC for Kabale, Mr. Christmas Turyomurugyendo, took the opportunity to commend residents for their overwhelming support of President Museveni during his campaign rallies in the region.

He urged the public to re-elect President Museveni and all National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearers in the upcoming general elections, citing the party’s “visionary manifesto that champions communal livelihoods.”

The event was attended by local leaders, including aspiring Woman MP Hon. Enid Origumisiriza, Mayor Sentaro Byamigisha, councillors, and community stakeholders.
