The Commercial Officer advocated for the use of savings accounts as a secure way for artists to deposit funds, earn interest, and achieve their future financial goals. She contrasted this with checking accounts used for daily spending, emphasizing that a disciplined savings culture helps artists prepare for emergencies, large purchases, and long-term plans.
Grace Tayebwa also urged members to embrace self-sustainability and called for the full mobilization of all artists to ensure active participation in the association’s meetings and activities.
“A savings account is used to deposit money for future goals, where the funds are kept safe and earn interest over time. I also want to encourage you to stay informed about new opportunities and development plans through our awareness programs,” Tayebwa said.
Echoing the theme of unity for development, the Chairperson of the Rukungiri Artists Association, Laban Ainembabazi, appealed for collaboration between gospel and secular artists. Ainembabazi, who also serves as a pastor at Gate of Hope Church in Bugangari Sub-county, stressed that teamwork is essential for nurturing their diverse talents and building a stronger, more influential association.
The association’s Speaker, gospel artist Robert Tuhirwe, called for unwavering discipline from members, framing it as a non-negotiable cornerstone for achieving growth and excellence in their artistic careers.
Fellow gospel artist Ketty Mbuga concluded the meeting by inspiring her colleagues to practice patience, describing it as a vital virtue and key component for achieving lasting success in both life and art.
The meeting has been widely hailed as a positive step towards empowering Rukungiri’s artists, providing them with both the practical tools and the collective spirit needed to thrive.
