During the landmark service, 26 children were baptized and 81 were confirmed.
Dr. Kaziimba emphasized that inclusivity is a core ministry value for the Church of Uganda, asserting that every person whether deaf, blind, or physically incapacitated is created by God and deserves love, affirmation, and equal opportunity.
He challenged societal stigmas and misconceptions that such children are cursed, reminding the congregation that all are “wonderfully made in God’s image.”
The Archbishop recommended strengthening inclusive education with adapted examinations, ensuring accessible health and social services, and establishing robust laws upholding the dignity of persons with disabilities.
He expressed deep gratitude to parents and caregivers for their extraordinary courage and faith in bringing their children to the house of God, celebrating their unwavering love and advocacy.
The service was further enriched by a sermon from Mr. Kurt Dillinger, CEO of Crown Financial Ministries, who powerfully affirmed that every life is precious to God through scriptures from Psalm 139 and John 3:16.
His words provided immense encouragement to the families present and strengthened the collective resolve of the church to serve these children with greater compassion and excellence.
Archbishop Kaziimba concluded with a vision for holistic change, noting that true transformation touches the head, the heart, and the hand.
He reaffirmed the church’s dual commitment to continue preaching Christ while simultaneously working to build a just society where no child is left behind in the church, in school, and in every facet of community life.
