KASESE – The lifeless body of a chapati maker in Kasese District was discovered over the weekend with a piece of cloth suspected to have been used in the strangulation murder tied around his neck.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The deceased has been identified as Bwambale Wisborna, 17, a resident of Kasojo Cell, Kisenyi Ward, Hiima Town Council, who was allegedly murdered on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at an unknown time past midnight.
Sources allege that at about 1 a.m., the deceased went home and knocked on the door, which was opened by Turyasingura Reagan, 10, with whom he was staying, and the two slept.
Very early in the morning, Wisborna’s lifeless body was found by a colleague with whom he was making chapati after he went to awaken him.
The Rwenzori East Regional Police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed that the police were informed by the area chairperson, John Bato, and that the scene of the crime was visited and documented.
Maate noted that a K9 sniffer dog was not introduced at the scene because it had already been tampered with, and that the body of the deceased was retrieved and taken to Kasese Municipality Health Centre for postmortem.
He noted that the deceased was found with a piece of cloth tied around his neck, suspected to have been used in the strangulation process, and both legs tied with a similar piece of cloth.
“The deceased was found with a cloth tied around his neck and another binding his legs. We believe he was killed elsewhere and his body was brought back into the house and the door bolted from outside to stage the scene,” Maate noted.
Police have since initiated inquiries to establish the motive behind the gruesome murder and to identify the suspects, as the community reels from the shocking incident.
