The endorsement took place at Little Litz Gardens in Kabale Municipality, where the cyclists highlighted the minister’s exceptional track record during his tenure. Musasizi is currently seeking a fourth term in Parliament.

Leading the group, Good Katabazi described Minister Musasizi’s performance as “overwhelming,” saying it exceeds the expectations typically set for Members of Parliament.

“It’s impossible to list all the achievements of Hon. Musasizi in one speech, but I will try,” said Katabazi.

Among the key accomplishments he mentioned were the newly commissioned Rubanda County East Ambulance at Hamurwa Health Centre IV, the Shs 300 million girls’ dormitories at Bubare Secondary School, the Shs 3 billion St. George Kibuzigye Seed Secondary School, and the ongoing construction of Rubanda District Hospital valued at Shs 18.5 billion.

Cyclists from Nyamweru praised Minister Musasizi for the recently completed Habikyenzi-Kakyenaga-Nyamweru Road, constructed at a cost of Shs 1.9 billion. They also commended the extension of the Butambi-Kyokyezo road, which connects Rubanda District to Rukiga through Mparo Town Council.

Katabazi, who hails from Kitojo in Bubare Town Council, encouraged fellow cyclists to form a savings group and appoint Minister Musasizi as their patron, hoping for his continued support.

The cyclists also condemned what they termed as growing “religious sentimentarism” in the ongoing Rubanda East MP campaigns. They voiced concern that some religious leaders were promoting candidates solely based on shared faith affiliations.

They urged Minister Musasizi to remain steadfast, assuring him of their full support because of his hard work and visible impact.

In his address, Minister Musasizi thanked the cyclists for their unwavering support and emphasized the government’s investments in road infrastructure—developments that directly benefit Boda Boda operations.

Referring to the Shs 1.9 billion Habikyenzi-Kakyenaga-Nyamweru road, he remarked, “That road is now one of the best marram roads in Rubanda.” He also announced the release of additional funding to facilitate road rehabilitation at the sub-county level.

Musasizi explained that improved roads reduce travel time for riders and enhance the longevity of their motorcycles, while also reducing accident risks. “For example, if a motorcycle’s lifespan is 10 years, good roads can extend it to at least 12 years,” he noted.

The minister further revealed that the government is considering programs to support the Boda Boda sector and enhance its contribution to the national economy. He pledged to champion a government insurance program tailored for Boda Boda cyclists.

“Do you have insurance?” he asked the crowd. “No,” they replied in unison. When he followed up, “What happens when you get severe or fatal accidents?” some riders responded jokingly, “We just let God play His almighty role.”

Touched by their response, Musasizi promised to advocate for a policy that would provide insurance coverage for Boda Boda riders as they go about their business.
