Rukiga, Uganda – Police in Rukiga District are probing the circumstances surrounding the death of 40-year-old Atwebembere Christopher, whose body was found with deep cuts.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Christopher, a resident of Mushunga cell, Nyakashebeya parish, Kashambya sub-county, is believed to have been assaulted on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at around 9:30 PM in Mahura cell.
It’s alleged that Christopher and his brother, CPL Twinomujuni Francis, attended a burial and later went to Turyasiima Denis’ bar with four others to drink.
CPL Twinomujuni left the bar at 10:00 PM, while Christopher remained. He left the bar shortly after 9:40 PM and headed home.
Tragically, Christopher’s body was discovered the next morning, April 16, 2025, at 7:00 AM, along Ruyumbu Kashambya road, with severe head injuries.
Kigezi Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed the incident, stating that police responded to the scene, documented evidence, and recorded witness statements.
Christopher’s body was taken to Kabale Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Maate urged anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
