RUKUNGIRI: A Boda Boda Rider in Rukungiri District died on spot, after he lost control and went off road, hitting his forehead on the remains of gravels for road construction.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!The Deceased identified as Tibiine Johnson Benard 51 a resident of Kyebumbire-Ruhinda in Burombe Sub County, met his death yesterday at around 08:00 PM as he was traveling from Kihihi-Rukungiri district.
It’s alleged the Johnson (Deceased) while in Mironzi Cell, Kikongi Parish, in Bwambara Sub County, coming from the direction of Kihihi to Rukungiri, lost control and went off road, hit his forehead on the remains of gravels for road construction and died on spot.
The Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed the incident saying that the Police was able to visit the scene and documented it ahead of retrieving the body to Rwakabengo Health Center IV Mortuary for Postmortem.
Maate added that the primary cause of the accident was attributed to the Deceased’s driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Police Mouthpiece Confirmed to this reporter that the motorcycle was impounded and is parked at Rukungiri central Police Station pending IOV inspection.
A Single Fatal Road accident was also registered at Rukungiri Central Police Station on TAR 30/2024 as more inquiries are also at hand.
