Michael Mbareba was addressing Christians during the Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF) fundraising drive at St. Mark Kamwezi Parish this past weekend.

The event, aimed at raising funds for the establishment of a commercial house to generate income for the parish, drew a host of dignitaries, community leaders, and Christians, transforming into a forum for developmental discourse.

Michael Mbareba told congregants that the young Rukiga district “needs focused leaders who will foster its holistic growth,” positioning himself as that future-focused leader.

He emphasized that tracking the district’s well-being must be rooted in strengthening agricultural practices, a key economic pillar for the community.

Aspiring Chairperson Mbareba affirmed his status as a tested leader, citing his prior experience as Vice Chairperson and youth leader as proof he is uniquely fit to guide Rukiga toward greater prosperity.

“Rukiga is a young and developing district that needs focused leaders who will foster its holistic growth. I am a tested leader. I have been in Rukiga District leadership; I was Vice Chairperson and also served in various youth leadership capacities,” Mbareba stated.

The fundraiser also featured remarks from Rukiga County MP, Hon. Roland Ndyomugyenyi Bish, who showcased his own contributions to the district’s social sectors.

MP Ndyomugyenyi reported a strong focus on uplifting education, confirming that approximately 200 students have so far benefited from his established education fund.

He further outlined his efforts in supporting local health facilities through the construction of toilets and renovation of facility rooms, underscoring a multi-sectoral approach to development.

The event was a resounding success, with the community rallying to raise an impressive 40 million shillings for the parish project.

The gathering was graced by a number of dignitaries and politicians, led by Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe, with Hajji Abdul Mwebesa, the CEO of Qura Quality LTD, presiding as the Guest of Honor.

The convergence of spiritual purpose, community philanthropy, and political vision at St. Mark Kamwezi Parish underscores a growing collective drive to build a more prosperous and unified Rukiga District.
