The donation marks the initial fulfillment of a pledge to provide a total of 20 computers to the institution, a project realized through the vigorous lobbying of the Kigezi High School Primary Old Students Association (KHIPOSA).

The handover was spearheaded by KHIPOSA Chairperson, Hon. Andrew Aja Baryayanga, who also serves as the NRM flag bearer for Kabale Municipality.

Hon. Baryayanga thanked the government for honoring its commitment, stating the new computer laboratory was a proud achievement made possible by its support and the contributions of old students.

The hopeful legislator further urged pupils to leverage the new technology for academic research and digital learning, emphasizing the importance of proper maintenance.

“Make the best use of these computers, and ensure you maintain them by keeping the lab clean and avoiding entry with water or other liquids that could damage the equipment,” he advised.

KHIPOSA Vice Chairperson, Mr. Tumwine Joseph Chaka, joined fellow alumni and the school administration in applauding the initiative by Hon. Baryayanga, praising his leadership and dedication to improving the school.

“These computers will enable our students to gain essential computer skills and connect with the rest of the world through technology. This is a foundational step for their future,” Mr. Tumwine remarked.

A school representative, teacher Mr. Tuhamirwe Kenneth, expressed the institution’s deep gratitude and highlighted the computers’ transformative impact on teaching and learning.

He stated the donation will greatly enhance education by giving pupils hands-on computer experience and allowing teachers to use the technology for research and more up-to-date lessons.

The establishment of the computer lab is a major milestone for Kigezi High School Primary School, representing a concrete step towards integrating digital literacy into primary education.
