Buyende, Uganda – The Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda Rt Hon Anita Among, has on Monday, May 5, 2025 visited Budiope in Buyende District.
During her visit, she engaged with the local community, listening to their concerns and discussing ways in which Parliament can support improved service delivery.
The Speaker rallied supporters of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) to participate in the Party Baraza, an exercise aimed at electing leaders and verifying the party membership register at the grassroots level.
According to Rt Hon Among, this exercise is crucial in determining the quality of leadership in the party.
“I spent the day engaging with the community, listening to their concerns, and discussing how Parliament can support improved service delivery. Additionally, I encouraged our supporters of NRM to gather in their villages for the Party exercises that are crucial in playing a significant role in determining the quality of leadership right from the grassroots level.” Speaker Among said.
Furthermore, Rt Hon Anita Among took the opportunity to educate the community about various government initiatives designed to uplift household incomes.
This effort aims to empower the locals with knowledge about programs that can improve their livelihoods.
The Speaker’s engagement with the community demonstrates her commitment to listening to the concerns of the people and working towards improving their lives.
