This innovative system, as confirmed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine, links the Digital Hospital System with URA platforms, revolutionizing Non-Tax Revenue management.

The new system enhances transparency, efficiency, and accountability in all financial transactions for paid services, ensuring that patients’ payments are accurately recorded and managed.

According to Dr. Atwine, this marks the beginning of a nationwide rollout to all public health facilities offering services under the cost-sharing plan, demonstrating the government’s commitment to embracing technology-driven healthcare solutions.

The integration of the automated system is expected to reduce errors, minimize revenue leakage, and improve the overall quality of care.

The Ministry of Health has been working on various initiatives to enhance healthcare services, including collaborations with international partners.

For instance, Mulago National Referral Hospital has partnered with MU-JHU Care Ltd in research and quality patient care, particularly in maternal and child health, HIV prevention, and treatment.

The rollout of the automated hospital fees management system to other public health facilities will likely have a significant impact on the healthcare sector, promoting efficiency, transparency, and accountability in financial transactions.
