The development was confirmed by the Chairperson of the Ntungamo Mzee Tova Ku Main, Karuhanga Munyangabo, following a preparation meeting held on May 8, 2026, at their office in Rubare Town Council, Ntungamo District.

President Museveni, who secured a landslide victory in the January 15 presidential election with 71.6% of the vote, will take the oath of office on May 12 at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

Munyangabo told this reporter that preparations are underway to mobilize delegates to witness the inauguration of their long-serving leader following the decisive 2026 election victory.

He commended the ruling NRM government under President Museveni for introducing transformative programs aimed at lifting Ugandans out of poverty and into the money economy.

“We are fully ready to celebrate our chairman, President Museveni, as he takes the oath on May 12. His government has lifted us from poverty into the money economy, and we will not miss this historic moment,” said Munyangabo.

Doreen Nayija, Coordinator of the Ntungamo Mzee Tova Ku Main, lauded President Museveni’s exemplary leadership since the start of his reign in 1986, emphasizing that Uganda has moved from backwardness to a real developing nation.

She also highlighted progress in human emancipation, noting that women, once sidelined from leadership, now hold top positions, demonstrating true gender balance.

“Under President Museveni, Uganda has risen from backwardness to a developing nation. Since he took over leadership in 1986, he has transformed Uganda from a primitive past into a truly developing one. Women who were once marginalized are now the ones holding top positions, a true demonstration of gender balance,” said Doreen Nayija.

Nathan Muhoozi, the Mzee Tova Ku Main group’s treasurer, also confirmed that their grassroots efforts in Ntungamo gave the President a big win, and they fully support all NRM flag bearers.

Meanwhile, the group members have confirmed they are ready for the May 12 swearing-in, after presidential advisor Peace Rugambwa promised to help them with a bus to Kololo grounds.
