KIGEZI SPORTS – The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has released the Kigezi Zone U20 Boys Football Round of 16 fixtures, scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026.

The matches will be played at two venues in Rukungiri District, Buyanja Playground and the Makobore Pitch.
The action at the main Buyanja complex gets underway at 9:00 AM with a fiery opener:
· M1 (9:00 AM): Kisoro Vision vs. Makobore – Expect a fast-paced encounter as the visitors from the mountainous Kisoro district test their mettle against home-adjacent Makobore.
· M2 (10:30 AM): Mary’s/Ruhindi vs. St. Andrews – Tactical discipline meets raw ambition. This matchup promises midfield battles that could decide the winner.
· M3 (11:30 AM): Rwabukoba vs. Nyamweru – A clash of contrasting styles. Rwabukoba’s physical approach will be challenged by Nyamweru’s technical flair.
· M4 (1:00 PM): Rock HS vs. St. Gerald’s – The midday sun will add to the pressure as these two heavyweights lock horns in what could be the tie of the round.
Simultaneously, four more thrilling ties will unfold at the Makobore Pitch:
· M1 (9:00 AM): B. Comboni vs. St. Paul’s Bukinda – An early test of nerves and finishing ability.
· M2 (10:30 AM): Nyabitete SS vs. Rukungiri HS – Local bragging rights are on the line here, with Rukungiri HS expected to have a raucous home crowd behind them.
· M3 (11:30 AM): Kashenyi SS vs. Kamwezi HS – Two sides known for their never-say-die attitude; expect fireworks.
· M4 (1:00 PM): Kabale SS vs. St. Jerome Ndama – The Kabale giants face a well-drilled Ndama outfit in what promises to be a chess match of coaching wits.
The intensity will not pause after the final whistle of the Round of 16, as the quarterfinals will be played later today in a straight knockout sprint:
· Quarterfinal 1: 3:00 PM (Winner M1 vs. Winner M2)
· Quarterfinal 2: 4:30 PM (Winner M3 vs. Winner M4)
Only the three schools that survive the carnage today will earn the prestigious right to don the Kigezi jersey at the USSSA National U20 Boys Football Championships next month at Lira Town College, Lira District.
