After thrashing Asante Sports Club 4-0 away at Kyakyeka Stadium in Mbarara City on 25th October 2025, SC Volcanoes has now scored eight goals against the team in a single season.
Kisoro’s SC Volcanoes arrived at the venue at 2:30 pm and were fully prepared, while Asante did not show up until 3:00 pm before the 4:14 pm kickoff.
Rukyamuzi Julius struck twice in six minutes, opening the scoring in the 29th minute and adding a second in the 35th, to give his side a 2-0 halftime lead. Though Asante fought back after the break, they were unable to break the home team’s defense.
Meanwhile, SC Volcanoes saw Rukyamuzi Julius miss a penalty in the 76th minute, brilliantly saved by the Asante goalkeeper, but the striker refused to be denied.
He struck again in the 84th minute to make it 3-0 before completing his fourth goal deep in stoppage time (90+3) to seal a commanding 4-0 victory.
Asante head coach Hassan Nzafaro attributed his team’s heavy defeat to a crippling injury crisis, revealing that they traveled to Kisoro with only eleven players and no substitutes on the bench.
He revealed that five key players were injured during their previous 3-0 win over Mbarara FC, while also raising concerns about player licensing and suggesting that some opponents may not be properly registered.
SC Volcanoes head coach Patrick Ochan strongly dismissed the eligibility allegations, confirming that all his players are duly registered and eligible to play.
Ochan appreciated the club’s overall management led by president Dr. Martin Mbonye and the fans for their unwavering backing, confirming his team’s focus on achieving promotion to the FUFA Big League.
After the match, a smiling Rukyamuzi Julius said he was very happy with the team’s performance and praised the management and coaching staff for their hard work.
Rukyamuzi Julius, who previously scored four goals in a 6-0 win over Gorilla Highlands Sports Club on 15th February, matched that feat for the second time this season to bring his tally to 16 goals in all competitions.
With this win, SC Volcanoes remain unbeaten at the top of the Western Region league table, having 33 points from 11 matches and a goal difference of +27.
Asante Sports Club, on the other hand, sits in 7th position with only 11 points and a goal difference of -11 after the same number of games.
