KAMPALA – Police have confirmed the arrest of the alleged girlfriend of the murdered musician Matovu Moses, following the incident that occurred in the early hours of Thursday at Kibuli Depot in Makindye Division in Kampala.

Reliable sources allege that as he and the lady were leaving the residence, they were confronted by a male suspect who is also alleged to have previously been in a relationship with the same lady.
The confrontation turned violent, leaving the deceased with serious injuries. He was rushed to Kibuli Hospital by a boda boda rider, but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, SP Racheal Kawala, confirmed that the alleged girlfriend, whose name remains withheld and who was in the company of the deceased at the time of the incident, has been arrested and remains in custody.
“The female suspect remains in police custody and is assisting detectives with the ongoing investigations. The male suspect has been positively identified and is believed to have fled the scene. Police are actively pursuing him to facilitate his arrest and assist in establishing the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” Kawala noted.
Police have since urged the public to remain calm and allow investigators to work without interference, assuring that all necessary steps are being taken to apprehend the suspect and establish the facts.
Matovu Moses was a member of Afrigo Band, one of Uganda’s most celebrated and longest-serving musical groups, known for shaping the country’s contemporary music landscape for decades.
His death has sent shockwaves through Uganda’s entertainment industry, with fellow artists and fans expressing grief and calling for justice.
