The deceased is alleged to have died in an incident that occurred at approximately 3:00 AM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Rwabinyindo Village, Rubanda Town Council, in Rubanda District.

Preliminary findings indicate that the deceased was riding a Bajaj Boxer (Reg. No. UFB 171Q) and was reportedly traveling from Rubanda town towards Muko direction at a visibly high speed.

The rider reportedly lost control of the bike, veered off the road, struck his head against a eucalyptus tree along the roadside, and died instantly from the severe impact.

The Kigezi regional police spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed to the media that police officers responded promptly, and the scene of the accident was visited, examined, and well documented by officers.

The body of the unidentified adult male has been transported to Kabale Referral Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved for identification and postmortem examination.

Meanwhile, the motorcycle (Reg. No. UFB 171Q) has been taken to CPS Rubanda, pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV) to help establish the mechanical condition of the bike prior to the crash.

“Police are holding the body of an unidentified adult male who died instantly after losing control of his motorcycle and hitting a eucalyptus tree along the Kabale–Kisoro Road,” stated Elly Maate.

Elly Maate added that inquiries into the accident are still underway, thus appealing to anyone with information that could help identify the deceased to report to the nearest police station.
