Speaking to the press at the engagement held at Rugando II Primary School on Wednesday, the Deputy District Education Officer, Mr. Tumusiime Geoffrey, outlined the core training objectives.

He emphasized that the program is designed to encourage discipline among both learners and educators while providing teachers with the tools for effective lesson planning.

Mr. Tumusiime stressed that the training ultimately aims to uplift the quality of education across Rubirizi by helping teachers acquire the knowledge and values necessary for achieving impactful classroom outcomes.

“This training aims to uplift education and sports across Rubirizi by helping teachers acquire skills for impactful lessons. Ultimately, this is about promoting holistic learner discipline and improving classroom results,” Mr. Tumusiime explained.

The workshop also served as a platform to address professional conduct, with discussions covering performance standards, adherence to the teachers’ code of conduct, and tackling vices such as absenteeism and alcohol consumption during school hours.

The session further introduced the use of scorecards as a tool to track performance and equip teachers with the skills needed to strive for excellence.

The headteacher of Rugando II Primary School, Mr. Tumusiime William, together with Ms. Aryampa Grolia of Kirugu Primary School, commended the district for the timely training, noting it will sharpen their skills and boost performance.

They committed to implementing the knowledge gained to provide quality education through a coordinated service delivery system focused on sustainable and equitable development.

The participants further requested that the district education department and the central government organize more such trainings in the future to continuously enhance education standards in the area.
