The appeal was formally delivered by the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, during a press briefing on Friday held at his office on Kabale Police Headquarters.

Addressing journalists, Maate emphasized that churches, entertainment centers, and the general public must work hand-in-hand with security agencies.

He stressed the critical need for everyone to adhere to established security guidelines and to remain vigilant throughout the celebrations.

The Police Spokesperson confirmed that robust security arrangements are already in place and will be sustained throughout the festive period.

He detailed that a comprehensive security plan involving both foot and motorized patrol teams is being deployed across the region to ensure a visible deterrent and enable a rapid response.

The Police Spokesperson further issued a stern warning to all motorists, urging drivers to strictly obey traffic rules and regulations to avoid accidents as they transport revelers to various destinations.

He cautioned drivers against dangerous practices such as consuming alcohol while driving and other reckless behaviors that endanger the public.
