A detailed, harmonised press release was signed by the Rubirizi District Returning Officer, Twinomujuni Nicholas, aimed at preventing clashes and ensuring an orderly campaign period for all candidates.

Six candidates are competing for the Bunyaruguru Parliamentary seat, with a campaign schedule organised by sub-county over six distinct time periods.

In Katunguru, the sequence begins with Muhumuza Deogratius and runs through Mujuni Benjamin, Katooma Vincent Mugisha, Ben Batarigaya, and Cadet Benjamin, concluding with Nobert Twine.

Similar detailed schedules have also been laid out for Rubirizi Town Council, Macambo, Ryeru, and Rutoto. For example, in Kichwamba, Cadet Benjamin will kick off the events.

The Katerera Parliamentary constituency is set for a three-horse race, featuring an eight-week campaign programme structured by sub-county and town council.

Campaigns begin in Week 1 with Muganzi Benjamin (NUP) in Katerera Town Council and Atwijukire Boaz (Independent) in Kyabakara. Notably, Hon. Kato Mohammed Haule (NRM) is without a venue for the first three weeks.

The schedule ensures all candidates will rotate through major areas, including Katerera Town Council, Katerera Sub-county, Kirugu, Katanda, and Kyabakara.

The race for the Rubirizi District Chairperson’s seat features four candidates who will embark on a rigorous campaign, criss-crossing ten sub-counties and town councils in a series of two-to-three-day stops.

The comprehensive programme schedule serves as a critical framework for candidates, security agencies, and the public to ensure a peaceful, organised, and transparent campaign period leading up to the 2026 general elections.
