NTUNGAMO, UGANDA – Members of the Ntungamo Mzee Tova Ku Main group have called for an end to internal conflicts and grudges within the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.

The resolution was made during the party’s mobilization group meeting held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at their office in Rubaare Town Council, as the country gears up for the intense 2026 general elections.

The Ntungamo Mzee Tova Ku Main Chairperson, Jackson Karuhanga Munyangabo, urged members to maintain the spirit of supporting the NRM government, highlighting its initiatives aimed at eradicating poverty among Ugandans.

He appealed to individuals who lost in the NRM primary elections and later contested as independents, only to lose again in the general elections, to stop any actions that could destabilize the party.

Karuhanga encouraged them to reconcile and work together for the party’s success and to continue protecting the gains made under its leadership.

He commended the members for their dedication over the past four years, noting their personal sacrifices in funding their attendance at regular meetings and NRM functions.

Robert Rwakandari, the Director for Mobilization, thanked the group’s patrons, Mr. Justus Karuhanga and Dr. Nicholas Karuhanga, for their unwavering support since the group’s inception and for securing an office for them.

The group’s spokesperson, Mr. Alex Musinguzi, echoed the chairperson’s sentiments, urging members not to relent in their mission to remain at the forefront of canvassing support for the party.

He highlighted several challenges hindering the group’s activities, including individuals joining for financial gain, a lack of transportation for members, and the absence of a central office in Ntungamo Municipality.

Musinguzi, however, commended the patrons for their consistent support in stepping in to fill these gaps whenever the group faces difficulties.

The group coordinator, Moreen Komugisha, praised the transformative impact of the NRM government, stating that countless Ugandans have found prosperity and opportunity under its leadership.

Extending a hand of unity, she called on members of the opposition, whom she described as living without peace, to cross over to the ruling party, assuring them they would “feel at home.”

Established four years ago, the group was formed to campaign and mobilize votes for the NRM party chairperson, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, to secure another term for the 2026–2031 tenure, while also supporting other party flag bearers.
