RUBIRIZI, UGANDA – The Director of the Spiritual Catholic Charismatic Renewal for Mbarara Archdiocese, Rev. Fr. Asobora John Baptist, has called on believers to abandon the costly and destructive practice of witchcraft and place their trust solely in God.

He urged the community to stop wasting their limited money on witchcraft,a practice he identified as a primary driver of poverty that traps families in a cycle of fear and financial waste.
Emphasizing that faith belongs to God alone, Fr. Asobora called on the community to reject witchcraft rumors, which he condemned as a backward culture.
He also urged the youth to embrace a positive mindset to combat rising cases of suicide, domestic violence, land wrangles, and mob justice.
The conference, focused on spiritual revival for the younger generation, was organized under the theme “Now is the time of favor; now is the day of salvation.”
The Parish Priest of Kyamwiru Catholic Parish, Rev. Fr. Amen Mukasa, confirmed that the conference was a direct response to seeing many youths engaged in unproductive and dangerous pursuits.
He reported that over 8,000 youths from across Rubirizi District have committed to serving God and encouraged them to practice discipline, love, and unity.
The Katerera Constituency MP, Hon. Haji Muhamadi Katoto, cautioned the youth against wasting time on harmful substances like waragi and cigarettes, as well as early sexual activities.
He warned of their negative impact on health and future prospects this urging parents to take an active role in shaping their children’s lives by guiding them from an early age.
The conference has been hailed as a significant step toward fostering a more hopeful, faithful, and prosperous community in Rubirizi.
