NTUNGAMO. The newly appointed Presidential Adviser on Agriculture, Ms. Peace Rugambwa, who is also the Chairperson of Boona Bageigahare Nyekundiire Group, has vowed to fiercely advocate for ordinary and less privileged Ugandans, ensuring they receive what rightfully belongs to them from the government, especially from the Office of the President.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! In her maiden press address as a Presidential adviser over the weekend, Ms. Rugambwa responded firmly to her critics who argued that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni appointed a woman with limited formal education to a sensitive sector like agriculture. She stated that the majority of corruption victims in the agriculture sector were ordinary Ugandans whose voices had long been suppressed.
“The President did not only choose me to discuss agriculture with him. He chose an ordinary Ugandan to represent the concerns of ordinary Ugandans, and I am going to do this work without fear,” she said from her home in Rwahi, Ntungamo District.
“I hold a PhD of the Holy Spirit, awarded to me by Jesus Christ,” Ms. Rugambwa declared in her detailed response to social media questions about her academic background.
She also criticized the “so-called elites,” whom she accused of continuously stealing relief and empowerment funds meant for ordinary Ugandans, and announced a “New Chapter for the Common Man” under her leadership.

Ms. Rugambwa further pledged to advocate for increased involvement of Western Uganda musicians in President Museveni’s mobilization programs, aiming to break the dominance of musicians from Central Uganda. She promised to arrange a meeting between the locally based musicians and the National Coordinator of the Operation Wealth Creation Program, Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho, alias Salim Saleh.
“They come here and want us to speak Luganda, and when we are in Kampala, they still want to dominate everything. That must stop because we want people from here to take the lead in mobilizing support for President Museveni when he comes to this side,” she emphasized.

Ms. Rugambwa also called on media practitioners in South Western Uganda to form a SACCO, through which she would request support from the Office of the President for members seeking capital to venture into business.
During the same event, the Presidential Adviser on Kigezi Sub-region affairs, Mr. William Kanagizi, urged the media to contribute to “protecting the gains” made under the NRM government, particularly peace and stability. He urged members of the press to avoid divisive and religious sectarian sentiments in the 2026 elections.
Mr. Kanagizi recounted his own journey, saying, “I joined President Museveni and his rebel group (NRA) after Museveni’s UPM lost the 1980 presidential election to UPC. I was selling coffee from Kyazanga to Rwanda, and UPC soldiers killed my business partner. That’s how I ended up joining UPM and subsequently the NRA.”
He congratulated Peace Rugambwa on her appointment and pledged his full cooperation as they work together to promote the interests of the NRM and President Museveni in the Kigezi sub-region.
