The announcement was formally made by the Muhabura Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Godfrey Mbitse, during a press briefing convened at his office within St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Seseme.

Bishop Mbitse unveiled the details of the upcoming event, which will be held at the Muhabura Diocese Convention Grounds from August 27th to 30th, 2025, and is expected to draw participants from 15 dioceses across Western Uganda.

Bishop Mbitse clarified that the inclusive event, which will operate under a theme derived from Galatians 6:9–10 focusing on women’s spiritual and social development, extends to all women regardless of whether they were married through the church.

During the briefing, Bishop Mbitse underscored the foundational role women play within the family structure, stating that they hold the power to either build up or weaken a home.

The Bishop further issued a powerful and heartfelt appeal, urging husbands to provide comprehensive and unwavering care for their wives, emphasizing that such support is a fundamental cornerstone of a strong and resilient family unit.

In a significant development for the diocese, Bishop Mbitse officially launched a roofing campaign for the new cathedral currently under construction, a major project with an overall budget of one billion shillings.

The current roofing phase requires over 3200 iron sheets at a cost of 120000 shillings each and will culminate in a completed cathedral with a seating capacity for over 3000 worshippers.

Bishop Mbitse took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Christians and well-wishers for their generous contributions thus far and appealed for continued support to see the project through.

The conference will feature an array of speakers addressing various topics pertinent to women, including the confirmed attendee, Kabale District Member of Parliament and NRM flag bearer, Hon. Enid Origumisiriza.
