Kisoro, Uganda – The former Kisoro Municipality Legislator, Sam Byibesho, has addressed circulating rumors suggesting he intends to run as an independent candidate for the Kisoro Municipality MP seat in the 2026 general elections.

Byibesho, who attended the NRM cadre training course in Kyankwanzi in 1994 as Cadre Number 29, emphasized his unwavering commitment to the party.
Beyond reaffirming his party loyalty, Byibesho highlighted the need for cooperative development, thus calling for the extension of essential services such as water, electricity, and road projects to underserved villages within the municipality.
“There are villages within our urban areas that have not accessed these basic services, so we have to work hard to meet their needs. Someone who has supported the NRM for 40 years, like me, will never stand as an independent candidate. My love and commitment to the party are unwavering,” Byibesho stated.

The former legislator lauded the residents for their participation in recent LC1 and NRM structure elections, urging those who lost to remain supportive of the party and continue mobilizing for future elections.
He emphasized the importance of cooperation and avoiding hatred, particularly in the aftermath of competitive elections, to foster better community development.
